How do you bring a building like this back to life?
Not by erasing it — but by respecting what remains.
We began thinking about how to make it feel modern again, while still protecting the integrity that was left behind.

We didn’t just want something new.
We wanted light back in the space.

We hoped to uncover the original character when we removed the white façade.

While parts of it were still there, much of the original character had already been lost over time.
What this revealed wasn’t just brick—it was the reality of a building that has lived many lives. Renovations, coverings, and decades of change had taken their toll.
This project isn’t about pretending nothing was lost. It’s about respecting what remains and restoring the spirit of what once stood here.

As the façade came off, it became clear the character we hoped to uncover wasn’t fully there anymore.

Years of change had already erased parts of it.
We questioned whether this had been the right call.
But at that point, there was no turning back. The only option was forward—accepting the reality, respecting the building’s past, and committing fully to its next chapter.
