WOW! To say that we feel the love from everyone is just such an understatement. As I type this we have received $4,180 in donations which doubles to $8,360. I have wanted to be thoughtful and specific with how I steward the donations that have been entrusted to me and it is just amazing how God has showed up in the situation. Those of you that know me, know I am kind of wordy so come with me as I tell you how much of this came about. A lot of our donation centers are busting at the seams and as the weather is changing and power is being restored the needs are changing almost daily so they just don't have storage needed for items. I had several donations that I had purchased in the first round that were not needed immediately around here. I knew in the coming days things would be needed again so my plan was just to hold it for a few weeks but I reached out to one of my clients who has a small baby to check to see if she needed any formula or diapers. They had lost power for several days but didn't have major damage so she graciously said they were good but that her parents church is helping a small community that really hasn't received much help. This past weekend several of my family members made a trip up this way and we dropped off what they had collected from several spots along the way and what I had so that this sweet church family could make the next leg of the trip up to the little mountain community of Frank. While I was speaking with my client's mom (aka the Pastor's Wife)- she told me of how she had stumbled upon the little town of Frank. They had gone up the Mtn to deliver items only to be told the donation center was full. So she started making calls. One person told her about this little town and gave her a number. She called and they eagerly said they could take anything because they had nothing and their community was devastated. When they arrived she mentioned the name of the person she had spoken to and got the number to the contact them and the person had never heard of that person. Funny how God just lines things up! Like so much of NC and TN, this town lost so so much. Their homes, their jobs, their town, and even in some situations they lost their land to the rivers, streams and creeks. We have a list of their needs and we are working to meet them. For all of those that have donated, today WE were able to buy Buddy Heaters that are safe to use inside homes and tents, small containers of propane for the camping stoves, heaters, lights, etc, sleeping bags, pillows, towels and washcloths, blankets, and more. I'll get pictures as soon as it all comes in so you all can see how you guys blessing so many people. We are also helping a young local lady reestablish herself in her new little home and we will be looking to do more of the same for others as they start finding some level of normal again. Thank you all so very much!! The devastation is so unbelievable but the love and outpouring has been amazing.

Hello Everyone!! I wanted to give everyone an update. We are seeing power restored in a large amount of our area now but our communication lines are still pretty heavily destroyed. Our cell phones work some but not great, so if you are reaching out and we are not replying it is really because we either got it and get get a message back out or we never got it at all. Sometimes we are getting messages days later. We are also seeing complete outages during the daytime hours, so my guess is they maybe working on the towers and needing to turn them off to work.

We have been abundantly blessed by the outpouring of so many. As of right now Asheworth Group has raised $2600 which doubles to $5200, putting us over halfway to our goal. The past few days I have been trying to catch up on work and dealing with a few of our personal losses but we will be back at helping in the next few days. Several of my family and friends are heading up this weekend to bring in more supplies, to help cook for the workers in our area that have been so faithfully working 12 hour days (or more) 7 days a week to get our utilities back operating, and to help with cleanup. Our distribution centers are stocked right now but the needs are changing daily and I am in contact with several that can give me specific needs that we will be able to meet immediately. I could go out and buy more diapers or water but we seem to have plenty from what I hear and I really want to meet the needs on that super personal level. That young couple that is just trying to make ends meet, the senior citizen that is on a fixed income, or those single parents trying to restock a fridge that was a total loss. Then there are those that lost everything they had. Imagine if you took your entire house and floated it away with no warning then having to reestablish every basic need you have. It is going to be a long long process to rebuild not just our infrastructure but also the lives of our citizens.

We are also sending our love and prayers to FL right now. This storm looks like a beast. If you are in FL and reading this, I beg you to leave if you have been advised to.

Attached are just a few pictures I have taken while we have been out. Please note these were taken from the car as we were driving in for deliveries. The are mostly right off the main roads. They are bad but the areas off the main roads are even worse. The partially collapsed building is the Spruce Pine Ingles. The others are in Swannanoa and downtown Spruce Pine.

I’m so tired but it is such a good tired. We made it in around 230 this morning after making some stops for supplies. We distributed part of them today and then we cooked for around 70 lineman. Y’all 30 lbs of chicken, 15 lbs of ground beef, 4 lbs of noodles, and 10 lbs of rice sure makes a lot of food!! It just did my soul good spending time with them and just letting them know how much we appreciate them. We have received $650 in donations all ready so doubled we are up to $1300!! Wow!! I can’t thank you guys enough!! This has been such heartbreaking, yet heartwarming moment!!

Tomorrow we are heading to check on clients and friends in the Spruce Pine and Burnsville areas. We are bringing more supplies but if you are up in the area and need something specific, please let us know! We will try our very best to get it to you. I know the distribution centers seem really heavily supplied so we may move toward the restoration phase. So so many people have lost everything. I’m thinking towels, pillows, and blankets.

Special shoutout to two of my cousins and their friend that came up from High Point to help with the cooking and everything to make today possible. Katie, Tyler, and Hope.

Here are a few pictures from today. Oh I also was given a police patch! What an honor. The officers were from Lincolnton and stopped to talk with us. Everyone really just wants to talk and share some stories. A great day for community togetherness!

Also our adventure consisted of finding our other cousins that is working in Asheville with his team of linemen. His directions consisted of “I’m working by the river.”

When we started Asheworth Group in 2018 it has always kind of been our motto that we are small but mighty. In the wake of everything happening in our area we want to hold true to that and still be small but mighty. We want to make a meaningful donation but we also want to offer a way to make it mighty!! (I know this isn’t the even going to touch what we need but mighty in what we can do.) Several people have asked about where they can donate and it can hit the area as fast as possible. It has been heartwarming to feel that love from those far from us. We have decided that we will match dollar for dollar what is donated up to $5000. Not only will we do that but we will personally make the trip to buy needed supplies that are crucial right now. Since this was put on my heart this morning we have already received $270. Which puts us at $540 already. So all our friends, family, fellow agents. Everyone- we want to challenge you to help us meet our goal of $10,000. I will be shopping today for much needed baby supplies, personal hygiene items and other items that have been sent to me. We also want to take you on this journey with us. So all pictures of items and receipts will be posted. Help us help our community. My Venmo is attached but I can also do cash app and PayPal. Just think if you have $5 that is actually $10. Let’s make this happen!!

Good Morning Everyone,
All of our agents are safe and accounted for. Most of the clients that we have been able to have contact, with seem safe but unfortunately some have lost their homes. Please know we are praying each of you and if we can help at all, please reach out. We can not get to every area but if we can get to you with any supplies you need, we will!! This is not an open for business time instead this is an open to help anyway we can! We are here to give hugs, bring water, food, and supplies. Please if we have not been in contact with you yet, let us know that you are safe and ok.

Love you guys!!

How terrible is it that I have to even post this!! Today I received these screenshots from an agent in NJ asking me to verify if this was me. It is my name, my company name- but not my position, not my phone number. I did reach out to the scam artist and wouldn’t you know they still pretend to be me representing the Asheworth Group, until I identified myself as Angelia Peterson. Please know that I would NEVER send out messages like this and I would NEVER ask for gift cards. Please please watch yourself and be cautious. These thieves are relentless in what they will do and say to take advantage of people.

Look at all the smiling faces!! 45 properties closed this year, as a company we closed 78, Pretty amazing for our little company. Personally this year was hard, I lost my Stepdad, Dad, and my Grandma within 4 months of each other. In all the sadness there was still joy- we gained our second grandson in July and what a joy he is. God somehow carried me through this year and provided me with some of the best clients around. Going back through these pictures tonight made me think of each family, each situation, each journey, each of their stories- They may never know the joy that each of them bring to me, but it is truly an honor to have walked the path to home ownership with each of them.
