Today, MGA had the opportunity to join alongside the MEDCO Bus Tour as we talked with attendees about two of our projects here in Uptown Marion; the vital historic preservation project with the upcoming Bell Tower Lofts and the recently completed Hoth Flats!

For over four decades, MGA has served our local Marion community through a variety of projects. Whether that be the renovation of the Emerson School or the recent restoration and adaptive reuse of the upcoming Bell Tower Lofts, we are champions of the community we have called home.

Recently we were excited to add another small piece to the foundation! Keep an eye out for our commemorative brick next time you visit the Central Plaza at City Square Park!

As a recent grad he brings a fresh prospective to every project he touches, and we are extremely grateful for his hard work!

Class is back in session and as the communities around us return to school for the upcoming year, we want to highlight some school projects that the MGA team has worked on over the years. From historic renovations to modern athletic facilities, we are proud to help local communities and school districts around us thrive!

Emerson Elementary School Renovation – Marion, Iowa
Renovation of the Emerson Elementary School, built in 1929, to bring the building up to modern standards and transform the building into a useable, energy-efficient, school for the Marion Home School Assistance Program.

Grand Meadow ISD Gymnasium and Classrooms – Grand Meadow, MN
After extensive study and identification of priorities, this $7 million bond project was the result of various parts of the school community. The resulting project included a new 46,000 square foot competition gym and additional classrooms for the school district to enjoy.

Nashua-Plainfield CSD Middle School Addition – Nashua, Iowa
This middle school technology classroom addition was the result of a yearlong study performed by a citizen’s committee led by the superintendent and MGA. Consideration of building usage in both Nashua and Plainfield was made and the positioning of the district in relation to surrounding districts, both challenges and advantages, was considered in depth.

Something great is happening over in Riverside!

For the last couple of years, the MGA team has been working with the City of Riverside, Iowa to re-imagine and restore some of their downtown buildings! Through the utilization of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administered by the Iowa Economic Development Authority, seven downtown buildings have been evaluated and revitalized.

Today the MGA team wishes one of our interns, Kylie, farewell as she returns to school at Iowa State in the coming weeks. Kylie has been a great addition to the team this past summer and we hope that her time spent with us has been a valuable one as she moves forward to peruse her degree! 🎓
