We are seeking a leasing partner that can embrace the 1950s/60s Machine shop and car culture to partner with us to keep the heritage of this place alive. In 1955 a young machinist named Robert Snow left behind a hectic and congested East Detroit seeking new beginnings to the North. He found the small bustling village of Marlette that fit with his conditions. Marlette was the place he could stretch his entrepreneurial wings with the newly found business and raise a family in a small-town. He bought an old factory building and started machining parts for the auto and agriculture industry under the name Snow Screw Products. The success he found allowed him the good fortune to construct a brand new building in 1957. The new building was furnished with new office equipment to keep things organized by his wife Virginia who served as secretary and treasurer and the latest machining centers in the rear to service their going concern. Later on, the Snow’s son, Robert Jr., added his expertise to the business and his wife Sue served as secretary/treasurer bringing it more years of success while his parents enjoyed life in retirement. Broadened world trade made it difficult to maintain the operation and it was shuttered in 1995. The building and grounds were prepared for slumber and used for storage and a small workshop for the next 25 years.
