Last year, we took you through the haunted backroads of Salem County. This year, we’re crossing county lines.
Introducing the 2026 Haunted South Jersey Road Trip: a self-guided journey through Salem, Gloucester & Cumberland Counties, uncovering ghost stories, dark history, local legends, mysterious creatures, and a few places where the past may still linger. 🎃
Note: Some noted locations are private property - the properties are not meant to be approached or entered (just drive past and observe respectfully). Most locations are public and you can stop and enjoy.
We’ve mapped out 10 spooky stops: from Revolutionary War battlefields and an old asylum to pirate legends, haunted marshes, mysterious woods, and some very creepy country roads.
But this isn’t just about the ghosts.
Along the way, we’ve added our Small Biz Connects - local farm markets, coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, shops, and other places worth pulling over for. Because half the fun is taking the backroads and discovering somewhere you’ve never been.
