Dream Home Design was started in 1997 as an in-home residential design business. I have purposely kept it as an individually owned and operated custom home design firm that generates cunstruction plans for new homes, remodels, additions, renovations, horse barns, equipment sheds, light commercial buildings, apartment buildings, and several unusual designs, including a berm house, a tree house, and
a home with a hangar. I have designed a number of green homes, including one NAHB Gold Certified home witha HERS rating of 3, and 18 local Award winning homes (MCHBA Home of the Year Program). I designed prototype plans for Habitat for Humanity for ten years. I have been, and am currently, a member of the National Assocatioin of Home Builders and the North Carolina Home Builders Association for eighteen years, in three different local associations - Moore County Home Builders Association, Greensboro Home Builders Association, and now the Asheville Home Builders Association. I am a NAHB Certified Geern Professional and a Certified Aging-in-Place professional. I am also a charter member and steering committee member for the first local chapter of the National Aging-in-Place council (Triad Aging-in-Place Council) in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is the first and only active chapter in the organization. I have designed homes on the Florida coast and the Wisconsin-Canada border, and from Mississippi to New York. My clients hail from California to Massachuesetts and Florida to Minnesota and a host of states in between.
