Projects projects projects!

There is so much happening at Grassy Road right now! Siding is going up on the Dogwood and Redbud Cottages, plumbing, electric, and spray foam is DONE!

Meanwhile the Laundry/bathhouse is getting a lean-to aaaaaaaand a classy entrance because why not?

Pond #2, (the ol frog pond) is getting a total makeover, trails and are getting cut in, and a bridge or two so you can enjoy all 23 acres!

Thanks for following along! We'd love for you to see it in person. I'm thinking mid October would be a great time, say 16-18th? Might be something fun happening that weekend 😜

These little guest books are something I reach for every time I step into one of the cabins. I get so excited reading about from where you came to visit, what you did while you were in Buffalo River country, and the specific things that meant the most to you at the campground!

Okay, we may have officially gotten carried away with this thing.

We already had landscape painting, survival skills, the Huckleberry Finn raft build, food and drinks, Friday night music, and Whistlin Dixie taking the stage Saturday night.

So naturally we asked ourselves...

What could we possibly add to make Crisp Air and Chords 2026 even cooler?

Oh, I don't know...

HORSEBACK RIDING!!!

Yep. It's happening.

Horseback riding is joining the Saturday lineup at Crisp Air & Chords!

Sign-ups for horseback riding AND all of our Saturday workshops will open October 1st. Space will be limited, so you'll want to be ready when registration opens.

And I want to make sure everyone knows this part:

You do NOT have to stay at Grassy Road to participate!

We're getting really close to full for the weekend, but there are plenty of great cabins and places to stay around Marshall and the Buffalo River. Book somewhere nearby and come spend Saturday with us.

Ride a horse. Paint the Ozarks. Learn some survival skills. Build a questionable raft and put it on the pond. 😂 Grab some food and finish the day with Whistlin Dixie under the October sky.

This is becoming exactly what we hoped it would be:

More than a concert. An autumn weekend experience.

But instead of us making the announcement, we thought we’d let Whistlin' Dixie tell you themselves. 👀

Join us October 16–18 at Grassy Road Cabins & Camping for our Crisp Air & Chords weekend, and on Saturday night, we’ll be gathering outside for live music under the stars.

Bring your people, grab a drink, pull up a chair—or get up and dance. 🪩

Speaking of air conditioning, ever hear of nature's air conditioning?

Well Arkansas is already famous for its spring water, hot and cold. But when you can find the combination of: a cold water spring, lots of shade trees, a low point in the terrain, and bluffs on either side then congratulations! You've found nature's AC!
