Northern Virginia had another absolutely wild week.
The Eataly rumor at Tysons Corner just got a lot more real after new permit activity surfaced at the old American Girl location. If this happens, it could completely transform that side of the mall and add one of the most anticipated food destinations in the DMV.
Meanwhile, Sonic is scouting Washington, D.C. for a brand-new concept with no drive-thru and no drive-in. Honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about that one.
In Prince William County, Manassas-based Electra unveiled futuristic aircraft concepts developed with NASA, American Airlines, and Lockheed Martin. The company says the design could be 17% more efficient than today’s commercial airliners and already has a reported $10 billion backlog.
The Historic Route 11 Drive-In Theatre in Stephens City is celebrating its 70th anniversary this weekend, proving that some things never go out of style.
Arlington’s A Modo Mio was named one of the Top 50 pizzerias in America and is the only restaurant from Virginia or D.C. to make the list.

A house across from the Russian Embassy in Washington, D.C., known locally as the “Spy House,” just sold for $3.45 million after a major renovation. The property reportedly played a role in U.S. surveillance operations for decades and even includes hidden design features inspired by its history.
