We are excited to share that another member of our team achieved an important professional milestone a few weeks ago. Congratulations to Michael on earning his Pesticide Applicator Certification!

Obtaining certification through the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) requires dedication, training, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. Certified applicators must develop the knowledge and skills necessary to apply pesticides responsibly while protecting human health and the environment.

As part of the certification process, MDARD requires applicators to demonstrate proficiency in:

Identifying relevant pests commonly encountered in the field.
Understanding the environmental fate and impact of pesticides.
Proper use of pesticide formulations, application equipment, calibration procedures, and application methods.
Implementing safety practices to protect non-target organisms.
Applying integrated pest management (IPM) principles.
Proper pesticide container storage and disposal procedures.
Worker safety and protection practices.
