Wonderful to see one of Madison County’s dining gems, full of loyal customers for one of Star Tacos special retro Star Diner dinners. Diners enjoyed a choice of lobster fettuccine, fall off the bone beef short ribs, sea bass and some of the best crab cakes east of the Mississippi! A true Madison county treasure!

French Broad Crossing feels extra lucky to have the Walnut Family Bakery just a short drive from our doorstep. Camille Cogswell, a James Beard nominee, crafts stunning breads and pastries. This Valentine's Day, she outdid herself with this gorgeous chocolate cake adorned with raspberries and sugared violets. You can find her at 590 Barnard Rd in Marshall every Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM, serving up coffee and treats.

Our resident naturalist snapped a photo of a Barred owl perched in a tree. This species is frequently spotted on the East Coast, often during the day as they hunt at twilight and night. With a wingspan reaching 40 inches, they're recognizable by their brown and white feathers and distinctive vertical barring. Unlike most owls, Barred owls have dark brown or black eyes.
