Got a call at 9am that my sellers, who have lived in their home for over 30 years, weren’t going to be able to get everything out in time for closing. Even with movers hired, three decades of memories is a lot to pack up. So I drove over, rolled up my sleeves, and 2.5 hours later, closing saved. We got everything out of the house and into the garage, and the buyers were kind enough to give the sellers through the weekend to finish clearing it out.
Here’s the thing about real estate that doesn’t always make it into the listing photos: everyone involved is a real person with real feelings. Sellers are grieving a home full of memories. Buyers are anxious to finally get their keys. Emotions run high on both sides, and today could have gone very differently.
But when everyone remembers there’s a human being on the other side of the transaction, grace happens. The buyers today showed incredible grace. My sellers showed up and worked hard despite an overwhelming morning. And honestly, that’s what got us across the finish line, not just hustle, but people choosing kindness under pressure.
Not every realtor pulls up in heels and a luxury car. Some of us show up in mud, because our clients’ stress is our stress too.
To everyone who’s ever had a hard moving day, I see you. And to my sellers and buyers today, thank you for the grace. 👏
