And while we know that pumpkin patches, festivals and a cozy Halloween Saturday are on your agenda for this season, we should also talk about how important Fall can be for a homeowner! 🏡

A little preventative maintenance now can help stop bigger, more expensive surprises when the temperature does finally drop. ⛄️

Here’s a checklist!

🧹 Clean your gutters. Clear out leaves and any debris. Make sure downspouts are directed away from your home’s foundation.

🔥 Service your HVAC. Have your heating system inspected and replace your air filter so you’re ready for those chilly nights inside.

🚪 Seal doors and windows. Check for drafts around doors and windows. Fresh weather stripping and caulking will help keep the warmth inside while keeping Jack Frost out.

💧 Winterize outdoor plumbing. Disconnect hoses, wrap exposed pipes, and check for outdoor leaks and other potential freezing hazards.

🚨 Test your safety devices. Check smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Replace batteries if needed and make sure fire extinguishers are accessible and up to date.

🌳 Take care of your landscaping. Trim trees that could be a potential problem due to a winter storm and rake leaves away from your foundation.
