Governor Kemp has officially signed legislation that provides significant income and property tax relief. As a Realtor, I’m particularly excited about Senate Bill 33 and House Bill 463.

Why this matters for Homeowners:
The "floating homestead exemption" is a game-changer. It prevents local governments from "appraising you out of your home" by capping taxable value increases at the rate of inflation. This provides much-needed predictability for your annual carrying costs.

Why this matters for Buyers:
With the state income tax rate dropping to 4.99% and standard deductions rising (to $15k for singles / $30k for joint filers), Georgians will have more disposable income to put toward their dream homes.
