Lemon Butter Baked Cod 🍋🐟
Ingredients:
2 lb cod fillet (or any white fish)
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Dash(es) of paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
1️⃣ Prep the Fish: Begin by cutting the cod fillets into serving-sized pieces to ensure even cooking.
2️⃣ Butter Mixture: Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave. Once melted, stir in the lemon juice to combine the flavors.
3️⃣ Flour Coating: In a separate dish, whisk together the flour, salt, and pepper. This mixture will give your fish a slight crust and enhance its flavor.
4️⃣ Coat the Fish: Dip each fish fillet first into the butter and lemon mixture, ensuring it's well-coated on all sides. Then, dredge the fillets in the flour mixture for a complete coat.
5️⃣ Arrange for Baking: Place the coated fillets in an ungreased baking dish. Drizzle any remaining butter mixture over the top for extra moisture and flavor.
6️⃣ Season: Lightly sprinkle paprika over the fillets. This not only adds a hint of flavor but also gives a beautiful color to the dish.
7️⃣ Bake: Cook the fish in a preheated 350°F oven for 25-30 minutes. The cod is ready when it flakes easily with a fork, indicating it's perfectly cooked.
8️⃣ Garnish and Serve: Before serving, garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges for an added zest and presentation.
