This is just a weird design all together. In any case, the brick are failing where the beam is set. It seems like the brick are at least half way structurally supporting the beam that is holding the carport area up. It's beyond me why they didn't center the beam on that pillar?

Anyways, I wouldn't put anything valuable under that overhang.

Dear concrete guys and deck builders,

One of the first things I learned when I started construction was to always measure from the top of your threshold for stair rise into the home. If it's new construction, take into consideration that the threshold is 1.5" tall. A good rule of thumb is to keep your rise under 8", but check your local municipality.
