In person (drive-thru) purchasing for beach permits will begin on May 12th at various parks throughout the Town on select days:
May 12th - June 25th:
- Tuesdays @ Tanner Park, 3 pm - 6 pm
- Thursdays @ Venetian Shores, 3 pm - 6 pm
- Saturdays @ Geiger Park, 10 am - 1 pm
- Saturdays and Sundays @ Overlook Beach (May 23rd - June 14th), 8 am - 3 pm
June 19th - September 7th
- Daily @ Overlook Beach, 8 am - 3 pm
- Weekdays @ Parks Administrative Building (Phelps Mansion), 9 am to 4 pm

Massapequa Park residents scored some bragging rights Tuesday, as U.S. News & World Report named their village the top place to live in New York.

The report factored in variables like average household income, housing costs, job markets and more when making the rankings. Hicksville and Lindenhurst were also represented in the list, while New York City residents might be a bit disappointed by their hometown's ranking.
