The longer a home sits on the market, the more buyer psychology starts working against it. 🚪💡
Buyers naturally become cautious when they notice a listing has been available for an extended period because they start assuming previous buyers may have uncovered issues or lost interest for a reason.
What’s interesting is that many homes sitting on the market are not necessarily “bad homes.” Often, the issue is simply misalignment between price, presentation, condition, and buyer expectations within the current market.
Even strong homes can lose momentum quickly if buyers feel the property is overpriced, emotionally disconnected, poorly presented, or less competitive compared to nearby listings.
The good news is that these issues are often fixable. Strategic pricing adjustments, stronger presentation, improved staging, or small maintenance updates can completely shift buyer perception and reignite momentum.
