💙 Homelessness Myth vs. Fact 💙

❌ Myth: Homelessness only affects single adults.

✅ Fact: Families and children also experience homelessness—often in ways that are not immediately visible.

Some families stay temporarily with friends or relatives, move between motels, or sleep in vehicles while trying to maintain work, school, and everyday routines. Behind every situation is a family deserving dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to regain stability.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” — Proverbs 31:8–9

🌭💙 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BBQ ON THE RIVER! 💙🌭

Ali’s Golden State Dogs has selected The Lighthouse – A Healing Place as its benefiting charity for BBQ on the River, September 24–26—and we need your help!

We still have three-hour shifts available throughout the event. Volunteers are needed to:

🥤 Serve drinks
📝 Take orders
📦 Restock and help where needed
💳 Assist with checkout
🌭 Serve food

Whether you can give one shift or several, your time will make a meaningful difference. Every shift helps support our mission of creating a place of hope and healing for women and children in our community.

💙 “The light shines in the darkness.” — John 1:5

This verse is more than an inspiration to us—it is the guiding promise behind the mission of The Lighthouse – A Healing Place.

Even in life’s darkest and most difficult seasons, hope is still present. God’s light continues to shine, reminding us that darkness does not have the final word.

Our prayer is that The Lighthouse will be a place where women and children feel safe, supported, and surrounded by hope as they begin building a brighter future.

May we all continue shining His light through compassion, service, generosity, and love. ✨

💙 Today, we celebrate the incredible people who generously give their time, talents, and hearts to serve others.

Every volunteer brings something special—whether it is lending a helping hand, sharing a skill, offering encouragement, or simply showing up when help is needed. These acts of service may sometimes seem small, but together they make a lasting difference in our community.

🇺🇸 Today, on Patriot Day, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the brave first responders, service members, volunteers, and everyday citizens who ran toward danger to help others.

We remember their courage. We honor their sacrifice. We remain grateful for the compassion and unity shown during one of our nation’s darkest days.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

May we continue to honor their memory by serving others, showing kindness, and standing together as a community.
