The Federal Reserve raised its target range for the federal funds rate by 25 basis points today, to 3.75%–4.00%, the first hike since 2023.

Chairman Kevin Warsh was direct — inflation is still too high and the Fed is not done.

Higher rates mean tighter borrowing conditions, which affects acquisition financing, development costs, and deals in the pipeline. Warsh also made it clear there is no forward guidance coming, meaning every future move will be strictly data dependent.
