We didn’t buy this place in McCall, Idaho to get rich. Our family bought it so my in-laws would have somewhere to comfortably stay when they visit us every other month. We needed it to cover its own costs though. BUT . . . it’s doing much more than that.
Last spring we closed on a McCall cabin for $590K. We put about $110K into renovating it and did roughly 70% of the work ourselves. I’d list it today for $829K — leaving us with $129K in real equity in one year.
