Last Tuesday, I served as an AG Tour Task Force Host for the McCook Junior High School 8th grade class, alongside Mark Friehe (retired FVC), Brian Strauch with MNB Bank, and Nikki Cappel with Ellinger and Cappel, LLC.

Watching these kids bid on livestock, pet dairy heifers, and ask real questions about how it all fits together was the best part of my week. Agriculture is the backbone of this region, and most of them are already connected to it in some way. The tour just gave them a wider look at where it can take them.

Time is the one thing none of us get back, and every one of these operations gave it freely to show eighth graders what a career in ag actually looks like. Every one of them took time out of a working week to invest in students who may very well be their future employees, partners, or successors. That kind of investment in the next generation is what keeps agriculture, and this community, moving forward.

Somewhere in this country this week, a rancher will open their mailbox and pull out the new issue of The Land Report. They will flip past the cover story on the Singleton Ranch sale, past the deals of the year, and land on a page titled America's Best Brokerages.

They will see our name there.

Eight months ago, that name did not exist. Two brokers in Nebraska put their names on the door of a new company. A third founder picked up the phone and started building the brand around them. We made calls. We walked properties. We closed deals.

We did not spend much time thinking about magazines.

There are firms in this country that have been brokering land for thirty, forty, fifty years. Their names are familiar. Their reputations are earned. This spring, The Land Report put Ironhorse Land Company on the same page. Twelve states. Eight months in. 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚'𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞.

We did not build Ironhorse to win recognition. We built it because we believed there was a better way to broker land. One walk-the-property, know-the-water, tell-the-truth deal at a time.

Apparently, somebody noticed.

We owe this to a lot of people. The sellers who trusted us with ground their grandfathers bought. The buyers who believed us. The agents who came over and bet on something new. You took a chance on a name nobody had heard of yet. We plan to keep proving that was the right call.

And to The Land Report, thank you for seeing us. We do not take it lightly.

We are not finished. We are barely past the beginning. But this is a hell of a start.
