This vintage view of the three-hundred block of Ann Street shows several of McGregor’s homes that look much the same today. The second home from the right is an Italianate style home built in 1879 that was once the home of Louis “Lou” Kramer and Margaret Kinsley-Kramer.
Lou Kramer was a telegraph operator at the railroad depot in McGregor. Later he operated a clothing store with his brother Will which was located on the first floor of the Bergman Opera House. He also served as McGregor’s Postmaster before relocating to Los Angeles in 1922.
The Kramer house has had many owners over the years.
