When a client tells me, "We need more space,” one of my first questions is:
More space for what?
You may not actually need another 1,000 square feet. You might need a playroom so toys aren’t taking over the living room. An office with a door you can close. Better storage. A bigger kitchen. A second living area. Or simply a floor plan that uses the space you already have more efficiently.
That distinction matters when we start looking at homes.
More square footage can be great, but the goal isn’t necessarily to find a bigger house. It’s to find a home that solves the things that aren’t working in your current one.
So before we add another bedroom or 500 square feet to the search criteria, I want to know: What do you wish you had room for right now? 🏡
