DIY wreath created with dried limelight hydrangeas....around 60 - 70 flowers to DIY this wreath.

The fern below the wreath is a macho fern that grows huge in my North Texas garden.

The wreath is hung on the garage door next to one of three antique Italian lights. The lights are spectacular in design and light up with dawn to dusk light bulbs.

It's Spooky yet Sweet now that I added three strands of Tru-Tone Christmas lights with purple and orange bulbs.

Now that the heat wave in North Texas is down to 94 degrees...lol...I will start decorating the outside.

I will line the front sidewalk with the Halloween lights from Tru-Tone Christmas lights.

Relaxed morning, sitting on my comfy bedroom chair admiring the English style mantel area of the bedroom.

This is one of my favorite areas of my house. I love the brown, white, and blue color theme, plus all of the found textures of the fabric Alison Palmer lookalike lampshades I made, needlepoint fireplace screen, logs of the mantel, shell boxes, vintage books and so much more.

I hope you are enjoying a relaxed day too.

Beauty in the garden despite the heat in North Texas *

Dried limelight hydrangeas make a beautiful wreath on my front door. I adore the look of this wreath!!!

Cut the hydrangeas when they feel like thin paper.

I gathered my supplies: grapevine wreath, pruners, wire baskets for drying, bedsheet to collect cut hydrangeas, and trash can.

These are pannicle hydrangeas that bloom on new wood so they can be cut back some now. I gathered mine on a sheet so I could carry them all at one time to the backyard.

Pull off leaves over a trash can to collect the mess.

I stuck them in an upside down wire basket to dry for a couple of days.

Once dry, stick the flower end in the grapevine wreath, arranging larger flowers on the outside. Use smaller flowers to fill in.

This large grapevine wreath took about 60 flowers for a full look.

So so pretty!

DIY FOR MAKING $3 PAPER NAPKIN LAMPSHADES :

Follow the instructions labeled on the pictures.

I can't tell you how adorable these lampshades are!!!

Each one cost around $3 and took about 30 minutes to make. Plus, I didn't ruin the existing lampshade.

I will be making Christmas shades... so many ideas are floating in my creative brain!!!

PART TWO: HOW TO SEW AN ENGLISH STYLE FABRIC PLEATED LAMPSHADE

Follow the instructions on the pictures to create a fabric lampshade using cotton fabric that is lined.

Keep following as I have gone lampshade crazy and I have more shades to share with you.
