āž”ļø Negative thinking can become a habit and habits can be changed.

Iā€™m not a psychologist, and Iā€™m certainly not an expert on how the mind works. Iā€™m simply sharing something Iā€™ve learned through my own life experiences.

I come from a problem-solving background. When something isnā€™t working, my instinct is to ask:

What can I do about it? What can I change? What is actually within my control?

And Iā€™ve realized that negative thinking can sometimes become a pattern. We replay the same worries, imagine the worst outcome, focus on what went wrong, and before we know it, negativity becomes our automatic response.

So Iā€™ve been teaching myself to interrupt it.

When a negative thought shows up, I try not to give it unlimited space. I acknowledge it, ask whether itā€™s helping me, and then redirect my attention toward a solution, an action, or something positive that I can control.

Not every problem has an immediate solution. Not every difficult feeling disappears because we think positively. But we can choose what we continue to feed with our attention.

Sometimes the solution is taking action.
Sometimes itā€™s changing our perspective.
Sometimes itā€™s accepting what we cannot change and moving forward anyway.

Your thoughts can become habits. And with practice, you can build new ones.

Less energy on the problem. More energy on the possibilities.
