Friendly reminder, there is a reason you have today off, and it's not to thank a veteran or military service member for their service.

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have fallen and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Or passed away due to complications from injuries or illnesses sustained serving.

Not a "happy Memorial Day" moment, but a day to be grateful and honor their memory. So while you enjoy being off from work and drinking beer while eating bbq, please understand there is a difference in our nationally recognized military holidays.

Enjoy your holiday, be safe, and please take a few moments to remember those who served.
