Hurricane damage isn’t always visible from the ground.

After a storm, some of the costliest problems can hide where you can’t easily see them roof leaks, moisture behind walls, and water around the foundation.

A professional home inspection can help uncover hidden damage before small issues turn into major repairs.

Fall is here, and your home is getting ready for a new season too.

Before cooler temperatures arrive, take a few minutes to check the areas that work hardest during the colder months your heating system, attic, roof, and exterior.

A little attention today can help you stay ahead of unexpected surprises later.

Your first home is a big decision. Make it with clearer information. 🏡

Before you make an offer, look beyond the finishes and ask the right questions about the home’s major systems, repair history, and recommended inspections.

There’s DIY… and then there’s whatever we’re calling this. 😅

One thing I’ve learned inspecting homes: if you find yourself reaching for duct tape during an electrical project, it might be time to put the tape down and call someone.

Electrical work is not the place for creative shortcuts. If something needs to be repaired, have it evaluated and corrected properly.

This one?

100P going in the report. 😂

I should’ve known there’d be more… 😂

One unusual DIY repair can be an isolated mistake.

But it can also be a clue.

That’s why a home inspection isn’t just about checking individual components off a list. Workmanship in one area can tell me to pay even closer attention somewhere else.

And when electrical wiring gets “creative,” it’s worth having the right professional take a closer look.

Part 1 should’ve been my warning. 👀

💧 DIY gone very wrong…

There’s creative problem-solving… and then there’s creating a whole new problem. 😅

A temporary fix might catch the symptoms, but it doesn’t fix the source. When water is involved, that can eventually mean damaged cabinets, flooring, mold, and a much more expensive repair.

And once I find something like this?

I start wondering what else I’m going to find. 👀

08/28/2026

Did you hear that?

That sound coming from the crawl space? That was the kitchen sink — draining straight into it with absolutely no connection to the sewer line.

No pipe. No drain. Just a very expensive problem waiting to happen. 😳

This is exactly why I do what I do. A home inspection isn’t just a formality — it’s the thing that saves you from buying someone else’s nightmare.

New water heater installed. ✅
Old water heater removed… well… 😅

When you’re replacing major equipment in your home, don’t assume removal and disposal of the old unit are automatically included.

Ask before the work begins:
Is removal included?
Is disposal included?
Is there an additional charge?

Because “installation complete” hits a little differently when the old equipment is still hanging out in your attic. 😂

Know what you’re paying for—and pay for both services.

For Instagram, I’d make it slightly more educational than TikTok while keeping the new construction assumption as the hook.

Brand new house. Brand new electrical. Everything should work perfectly… right? 👀

That’s why we test.

New construction can look finished and beautiful while still having things that were missed along the way. Electrical components, plumbing, HVAC, windows, doors—“new” doesn’t automatically mean “correct.”

An independent home inspection gives you another set of eyes before you move in and helps get those issues documented while they can still be addressed.

If you were buying a brand-new home, would you think to test every switch and outlet?

07/30/2026

“It’s brand new… why would I need a home inspection?”

It’s one of the most common questions I hear.

New construction doesn’t automatically mean everything was installed correctly. Every home is built by people, and people can miss things. That’s why I inspect new homes with the same attention to detail as older ones.

A home inspection isn’t about expecting the worst—it’s about making sure you’re starting homeownership with confidence.

If you were buying a brand-new home, would you pay for an independent inspection before closing?

Sometimes it’s not the electrical panel that catches my attention…

It’s what had to be changed to install it.

A clean, modern electrical panel can give the impression that everything is in great shape. But a home inspection goes beyond appearances. Every modification deserves a closer look, especially when it affects the structure of the home.

That’s why I inspect the entire picture—not just the obvious. Sometimes the most important finding isn’t the new equipment… it’s what someone had to change to put it there.

Have you ever spotted something in a home that made you stop and ask, “Why did they do that?”

07/25/2026

Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head…

Not exactly the soundtrack you want when you’re under a house.

One small plumbing leak was quietly dripping into the crawl space, soaking the insulation below. It’s the kind of problem most homeowners never see because it’s hidden beneath their feet.

That’s why I always inspect the crawl space. Some of the most expensive issues in a home start where no one thinks to look.

Water has a way of finding every weakness. Catching it early is almost always less expensive than waiting until the damage becomes obvious.

Have you ever looked inside your own crawl space?
