👽 Have you noticed a new face around the station lately? If you look up at our upper windows at MPD, you might spot our newest recruit keeping a watchful eye on Third Street. They arrived a little early and is counting down the Earth days until the UFO Festival in McMinnville kicks off this weekend, May 15th–17th!
We want everyone - humans and visitors alike - to have a blast. To keep things running smoother than a warp drive, here are a few tips from your friendly neighborhood Earthlings in blue:

✅ Parking Like a Pro: Downtown will be bustling! Make sure to arrive early. FREE parking and a shuttle service is available at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, running regularly to drop you right in the heart of the action.

✅ Keep Your Space Safe: With large crowds and excitement, remember to keep your belongings secure and keep a close eye on your “Little Martians”.

✅ Follow the Light: (The traffic lights, that is!) Please use designated crosswalks. Even if you have telepathic powers, our local drivers still need you to use the standard human signals.

✅ Maximize Your Fun Frequency: This is one of our favorite times of the year! Wear your best alien gear, take plenty of photos (tag us if you see our window visitor!), and enjoy the unique energy of our community. Kindness is the universal language, so let's make sure everyone feels welcome.

There’s something about this time of year… Everything starts waking back up. Color comes back. People come out of hiding a little. And suddenly the calendar fills up again.

If you’re looking for something easy, local, and actually worth getting out for… here’s a handful of Easter events happening right here in McMinnville.

Egg hunts, something inclusive at the community center, and even an adults-only event if that’s more your speed. Nothing overcomplicated. Just good, simple ways to be out, be around people, and enjoy a little bit of spring.

Cancer has a way of touching everything.
For some, it’s a fight. For others, it’s a loss that never really leaves.

Someone very important to me was recently taken by cancer… and it’s a reminder of how many of us are carrying this in some way.

That’s why events like this matter.

The Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation is hosting a 21+ Easter Egg Hunt on April 4 at The Preserve. It’s not just a fun afternoon… it’s support, funding, and care for people walking through something incredibly hard.

If you’re able, go.
Show up.
Support.

And maybe hold a little space for the people we’ve lost… and the ones still fighting. 💛

The market is shifting. And not in a subtle way. Right now, sellers outnumber buyers by 630,000… the largest gap we’ve ever seen. That changes things.

Homes are sitting longer.
Price reductions are happening more often.
Buyers are negotiating again.

But this isn’t a crash. It’s an in-between space… and it’s unsteady. And for sellers, it’s frustrating.

Homes aren’t moving the way they used to, and expectations from the last few years don’t always match today’s reality. There’s more inventory, but affordability is still the issue. With rates over 6%, a lot of buyers are still on the sidelines.

So yes, there are more homes for sale.
But they’re not moving the way sellers have been used to. If you’re selling right now, strategy matters more than it has in years.
