❄️ EMERGENCY NOTICE: Cold Weather Pipe Protection
Due to extreme cold temperatures forecasted for the weekend which includes heavy wind, we are requiring all residents to take steps to prevent water pipes in our community from freezing and bursting. A burst pipe causes significant damage to your home and neighboring units.
Please take these actions immediately and keep them in place until temperatures remain above freezing (32°F):
1. Drip Your Faucets: Run both hot and cold water at a steady, thin stream (about the thickness of a pencil lead) from all faucet faucets, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms.
2. Open Cabinet Doors: Open all kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors to allow warm air from the apartment to circulate around the plumbing, particularly for sinks located on exterior walls.
3. Keep Heat On: Maintain your thermostat at a minimum of 60-65°F at all times, even if you are away.
4. Open Interior Doors: Keep interior doors open to help heat circulate throughout the entire apartment.
5. Check Drains: Ensure sinks are draining properly so the dripping water does not overflow.
If You Leave Your Apartment:
Please notify the Leasing Office if you are leaving for more than one day, as vacant units are at higher risk of freezing.
If You Suspect a Frozen Pipe:
If no water or only a trickle comes out of your faucet, call the emergency maintenance line immediately. Do not attempt to thaw pipes with open flames.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community safe!
