Sean Reid from Renton, WA.
Sean is soft spoken, but always a delight to be around as he is always happy and positive to be around.
Sean and I go WAY back to High School, although I didn't know him that well back then. You see, I was a Senior when Sean and my younger sister were Freshmen at Renton High School. I do recall meeting him a time or two in High School now, but when we bumped into each other in the Church's Young Single Adult program in the late 1990's, Sean said that he knew me from High School.
I thought that he was joking around at first, because I have had several guys in the YSA Wards joke around like that, just to see what you would do. But Sean said something like, "Well, I wouldn't expect you to necessarily remember me, I was in a different Ward and Stake (the Renton North Stake at that time) and I was a Freshman when you were a Senior, but I really looked up to you because you were an athletic Mormon, on the Football, Wrestling, Baseball and Track-N-Field teams."
I then felt horrible because I didn't know a thing about him or even recognize him at that time. But then, after talking with him for a bit, I did eventually remember him. But it did take looking in the Yearbook to remember him, he was only 14 at that time of High School, which meant no facial hair. Sean also grew a foot or two taller from when I first met him in High School. Once I saw the yearbook photo, I realized that I did remember him, he just changed a lot. I didn't feel so bad that I didn't recognize him, when I realized that he went from boy to man when I hadn't seen him in 10 to 12 years.
Since Sean and I have gotten reaquainted in our late 20's, we have done a lot more fun things together, like going Snowboarding at Snoqualime Pass.
Sean works in Kent, so he hasn't come to our Mid-Single Adult Family Home Evening (FHE) Meetings very often, due to the long commute from Kent to Everett, but when he has come we sure have enjoyed having him with us.
Speaking of Sean's work, he's a Mortgage Broker and he has already helped me re-finance the Mortgage Loan on the Everett Ensign House! I was well-pleased with how he handled everything and I would highly recommend Sean to anyone looking to purchase a home or re-finance their existing home.
I don't know that we will see him again at FHE Meetings again, now that he's engaged to be married.
