Jackson County will be under a Red Flag Warning on Friday, June 19th, 2026 from 8 am to 7 pm in Fire Weather Zone 621 in the Southern Jackson County Siskiyou Mountains, for scattered thunderstorms with abundant lightning over dry fuels. Park your vehicle towards the roadway and load your Go Bag.
Be sure you have a full tank of gas. This helps you evacuate quickly.
If you don't have a car, reach out to a friend, family, or transport service and make a plan should you have to evacuate your home.

Pick up anything that can burn that's close to your house. This can include outdoor furniture, dried leaves or plants, doormats, or other decorations.
Keep your windows & doors shut to keep it cool inside. This will help if you lose power.
Keep extra food & water on hand. Think about meals that don't require electricity to make.

Keep pets and carriers nearby.
Have a plan to transport large animals and livestock.
Always check trailers & towing equipment to eliminate dragging hazards.
Jackson County Expo will open for livestock sheltering if there are Level 3 evacuations - where will you take your animals if you're under a Level 1 or 2 evacuation notice?

We mean those beautiful, polished, roaring classic rides! 😉 (But seriously, you can bring the family too—just make sure the car steals the show!)

A few months back, Connie decided to step away from the day-to-day responsibilities and hand over the reins so she could start to enjoy being semi-retired. While she isn't working every single day (like she did for so many years), she couldn’t have chosen a better group to keep her dream alive. Instead of selling to some random outside buyer, she kept it exactly where it belongs: in the Punky's family.
​The new owners are husband and wife Kevin and Alana, and Mark (Punky's grandson)—but don't let the change scare you! Mark has been there since day one running the kitchen, Alana (the same friendly face you've come to love for the last 14 years) is running the front end, and Kevin has spent the last few years learning how to oversee the operation straight from Connie herself.
​While this crew is officially steering the ship into the future, Connie still makes time to offer her guidance and inspirational wisdom to the team. In fact, she can still be seen from time to time walking around and talking with the customers who have made Punky's what it is today!
​Don't worry—absolutely nothing is changing! The country gravy is still scratch-made, the Bread Pudding French Toast is still dangerous, and Connie’s granddaughter Anna is still pouring love into those famous deep-dish pies.

​To celebrate with the community that has kept them going all these years, this crew is hosting a massive Charity Car Show right outside the diner at The Village on August 1st (5:00 PM - 8:00 PM). 100% of the proceeds are going straight to Operation Rambo to support our local veterans. 🇺🇸🏎️

​Here’s where we need your help: We need cars on the lot, and we need local sponsors.

From travel snapshots to my own backyard. 🇺🇸 Anyone who knows me knows I can't pass up taking a photo of the American flag wherever I find it. This year, the tradition comes home. I am so incredibly proud to celebrate my first 4th of July with a permanent flagpole in my yard (thank you Bryan Schlafke !).
