TUFTS MEN’S ROWING TEAMS PLACED FOURTH (First and Second Varsity) at the 2026 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Saturday, May 30th at Lake Natoma in Gold River, California. The Jumbos have finished in the top four of the IRA Points Trophy standings in the last three seasons and in four of the last five years.

MYSTIC RIVER WATERSHED ASSOCIATION HOSTS ANNUAL BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS on Monday, June 1, 2026, 8:00 a.m. outdoors on the Dining Terrace at 200 River’s Edge Drive, Medford. Guest Speaker: Congresswoman Katherine Clark. This event celebrates MyRWA’s partners, volunteers, and community leaders who care about and contribute to watershed conservation. All are welcome to come and support this worthy cause.

TUFTS ROWERS PREPARE FOR POST-SEASON COMPETITION. The Women, two-time defending NCAA Champions, received an at-large invitation to this year’s NCAA’s and will row at Gainesville, Georgia. Their next couple days of practice will be on the Charles River; they’re pictured carrying boats to the trailers. The Men, last year’s IRA Points Champion, also received an at-large invitation to this year’s IRA’s at Gold River, California. Both events are May 29 and 30, 2026.

MEDFORD MAYOR'S CUP. Masterful organization by Friends of Medford Rowing. 14 Secondary School Teams competing in 58 races beginning at 8:00 AM and ending about 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 3. Many winners. Most wins - Maine Coast (10). Much of the day was cold, cloudy, and windy. Results - HereNow.com

14th ANNUAL MAYOR'S CUP INVITATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL REGATTA at River’s Edge Sunday, May 3, 2026. First race at 8:00 AM. Awards at 5:00 PM. Fourteen schools competing including one from Connecticut and three from Maine. River Café and NAZAR Market open at 8:00 am; The Establishment at 11:30 am. Should be a great event. TUFTS CONTRACTOR REPAIRS STEPS TO ITS DOCK in time for the Medford High School-sponsored regatta scheduled for May 3. This work was originally planned to be undertaken after the rowing season in June. The contractor, Your Space, which installed the steps for Tufts almost 20 years ago, is completing the repairs. CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON THE 3rd RESIDENTIAL BUILDING AT RIVER’ S EDGE AS FINANCING IS FINALIZED AND PERMITS OBTAINED. Criterion which developed the earlier residential buildings at River’s Edge is the developer. The design architect, Gensler, the landscape architect, Shadley Associates, and the civil engineer, Tetra Tech have played major roles in the creation of River’s Edge including the office buildings and the Park. The construction period is estimated at two years. Please stay tuned for updates.

DESPITE STRONG HEADWINDS, A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR TUFTS ROWING AT RIVER’S EDGE with Wesleyan, Bates, Wellesley, and Boston College Participating. Tufts Men’s 1st boat split its two races. Its other boats swept theirs. Tufts Women’s 1st boat won both its races as did it’s 3rd. its 2nd and 4th split theirs.

TUFTS COMPLETING FRIDAY WARM-UP BEFORE APRIL 11 REGATTA AT RIVER’S EDGE WHICH BEGINS ABOUT 10:00 AM. The Tufts Men face Bates, Wesleyan and Boston College. The Women, Bates, Wesleyan, and Wellesley. Weather forecast headwinds. The River Café, NAZAR Market will be open; The Establishment opens at 11:30. Please park in the Central Garage.
