If you’re looking for a challenging hike near Cave Junction, add Mount Elijah to your Southern Oregon trail list 🥾🌲

The trailhead is easy to find right behind the Oregon Caves Visitor Center, but don’t let the convenient start fool you — this hike is a workout. The full loop is about 9.2 miles with roughly 2,390 feet of elevation gain, topping out around 5,300 feet. Translation: lots of uphill, but the payoff is so worth it 😅⛰️

We hiked it in early summer, and the wildflowers were beautiful. As you climb higher, the forest opens up into some really gorgeous views that make every steep stretch feel worth it 🌸🌄

One tip: bring a map or trail app. Some signs were clearly marked, but a few were blank, and we actually missed a turn because of it. So pay attention, come prepared, and expect a real hike — not a casual stroll.

If you’re up for a challenge and want to explore more of Southern Oregon’s outdoor side, Mount Elijah is definitely one to try.

There’s a Saturday morning tradition in Grants Pass that locals love — the Growers Market 🧺🌿

This market has been going strong since 1980, so it’s not just a cute weekend pop-up… it’s a real part of the community. In the summer, you’ll find it downtown at 4th & F Streets every Saturday from 9 AM–1 PM, and when the weather turns, it moves indoors to the Josephine County Fairgrounds for the winter season — same day, same hours.

It’s one of the best places to grab fresh local produce, meet the farmers, pick up garden starts, honey, coffee, baked goods, artisan goods, and yes… a loaf of bread from Rise Up Bakery is basically a must 🍞✨

If you’re living in Southern Oregon or visiting Grants Pass for the weekend, this is such a simple, local way to experience the community — rain or shine, summer or winter.

🏡 JUST CLOSED in Grants Pass! 🏡

This one's a good reminder that real estate rarely goes as planned, and that's okay.

My clients came to me dreaming of raw land to build their forever home after moving from Southern California. They found the perfect wooded acreage... and then reality hit. Costly Firewise requirements, a low flow well needing a second one drilled, and the challenge of financing land + a build all at once.

So they pivoted. Instead of forcing it, they bought in town to give themselves room to work toward that land dream down the road. And they fell in love with the mid-century modern charm of this home on NW Sunset. 😍

This deal tested our patience too. Inflexible sellers, an active Airbnb making inspections tricky, an appraisal that came in under price, and a lender with great rates but rough, overwhelmed customer service that caused delay after delay. Thankfully our mortgage broker was relentless, calling and pushing daily to get us to closing.

They make homemade popsicles with natural ingredients, and the flavor list is so fun: watermelon mint, peach basil, mango orange, and more. I tried the mango orange, and it was refreshing, bright, and exactly what you want on a hot Southern Oregon day ☀️🍊
