🏡 Weird House Fact #2
Ever wondered why some older homes have an extra porch attached to the second floor?
It’s called a sleeping porch! Before air conditioning, families often slept there during the summer to stay cool. At the time, fresh air was also believed to promote better health, so these porches became a popular feature in many homes built in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Today, many have been converted into sunrooms, offices, or extra living space—but they’re still a fun reminder of how homes have evolved over the years.
