During our recent visit to Los Angeles, we had the privilege of meeting . Archie was wrongfully imprisoned for 37 years. He has an incredible voice and used this gift to form a gospel group in prison and performed for the other prisoners. When he got out, it only made sense for him to continue to use his voice to shed light to the world so he auditioned for and became a contestant. We spent the afternoon talking about music, life and a lot about God. Archie said, “I don’t want people to feel sorry for me because mentally, I was always free. See, the real prison is up here in our mind,” he points to his head. We are imprisoned by our own emotions; with addictions, envy, unresolved pain and anger, that even though we are walking around freely, we are the ones imprisoned. It was a heavy conversation but as real as it gets. As Archie sang acapelo , “Don’t let the sun go down on me”, let it be a true testimonial to all of us, never lose hope. ❤️🙏
