What builds unity between you, the realtor and the buyer? Showing them that you’re in the trenches with them. Most buyer and realtors spend the weekend at open houses and private showings to find the right house. Being there to explain monthly payments, programs and offer tactics with the clients shows them that you’re working with them. Sitting back and waiting for contracts is lazy and in this market you have to give these buyers the white gloves treatment!

When a realtor hands you a lead, you have to treat it like gold. The life of a loan officer can be extremely busy but taking the time to stay on top of leads and updating a realtor has to be a priority. If you don’t take care of them, they will send them to another lender!

Staying organized is one of the biggest ways you can add value to your Realtor partners.

I shared some of my strategies during last week’s huddle for managing incoming Realtor leads. One of the biggest mistakes I see is giving up after a single phone call or follow-up text.

Getting a borrower to complete an application and gather all of their documentation often takes consistent follow-up over days or even weeks. The loan officer who stays organized, follows through, and remains persistent is usually the one who earns the client’s trust and closes more deals.

Consistency wins.
