**Balloons: My Arch-Nemesis… or Secret Weapon?** Saturday’s open house for this brand-new listing was off to a solid start—perfect weather, a gorgeous property, and me, confidently declaring (yet again) that **balloons do not bring buyers.** I’ve been burned too many times—chasing them down the street, wrestling them out of trees, and dealing with the inevitable pop that nearly gives me a heart attack. So, this time? No balloons. Just me, the house, and the hope that the right buyers would walk through the door....And then an hour passed. The house was stunning, but foot traffic was slower than expected. And that’s when the doubt crept in. *Could it be? Were balloons actually… magic?* Against my better judgment (and everything I’ve ever ranted about), I caved. I ordered balloons. **Yes, me. The anti-balloon advocate.** And wouldn’t you know it? **Minutes after they arrived, so did the people.** Neighbors who had been eagerly waiting for the big reveal, curious buyers who’d been eyeing the property, and just like that—the place was buzzing with energy. Coincidence? Maybe. A cruel joke from the real estate gods? Likely. Either way, balloons: 1, Me: 0. The open house was a *huge* success, and while I’ll never admit defeat, I *might* just be reconsidering my stance. But let’s not get carried away—I still refuse to *like* them.

**Yesterday’s Open House: Zillow, Balloons, and a Networking Win**

Yesterday’s open house was, in a word, *unexpected*. There I was, just casually setting up, when visitors started pouring in. And here’s the kicker—they all knew about it because of Zillow! I mean, Zillow? Really? No balloons, no elaborate fanfare, just good ol’ Zillow.

Honestly, I had to laugh at myself because, in previous open houses, I’d gone all out with those blasted balloons. You know, the ones that flop in the wind, get tangled, or flat-out float away. I’d really believed they were my golden ticket to open-house success. Turns out, *no balloons* is the way to go! Yesterday, with zero helium involved, I had more visitors than I ever did with those shiny, annoying things.

At the end of the day, the goal was achieved: I connected with new people, shared a lot of laughs, and had another successful networking event under my belt. Who knew the secret to a great open house was less "up, up, and away" and more "thank you, Zillow”?
