Gentrify Memphis Most all Americans net worth is in real estate.

Yet too many of us Memphians work our entire lives to own homes only to find its decreased in value and is in an unsafe food desert with lack of police protection and no home equity to make improvements.

A Ferris wheel is coming to Mud Island! See photo! šŸŽ”

Memphis, look at this photo... and let’s dream. No, as of now this headline isn’t real, but SHARE THIS IF YOU WANT THIS A REALITY! Aren’t you tired of your tax dollars going to wasteful projects? I’m tired of being failed by organizations that aren’t being held accountable. We are pumping millions into Tom Lee Park (which is already well attended all year) while this amphitheater and Mud Island river park age, fall apart, and become more obsolete. Why don’t we invest in this ALREADY existing park with low attendance that use to host thousands of attendees a year and hundreds of concerts a year? Let’s approach this with SMART ideas and SMART design. Let’s shift 50-55 million of the funds being allocated to TLP to the river park, then do upgrades to TLP for 20-25 million. We need to keep what we have already built nice, up to date, and relevant. As a musician, I would love to play the amphitheater and ROCKā€ITā€ MAN! šŸš€

šŸŽµUpgraded amphitheater, seating, and venue

🚈 Upgrade the extremely out of date tram over to the park

šŸŽ”Install a Ferris wheel and join Seattle and other leading cities with Farris wheels on their ā€œporchā€ of their skyline

šŸ’¦Upgrade the Mississippi River model and museum. Shine a light on this mighty river we cherish with all new info, interactions, etc.

šŸ“ Upgrade the event space, restaurant, and bar

Congratulations for following through with solutions. What is being done about the high crime in these areas? Everyone from the small homeowner to the national corporation wants to live and work without fear. Can they do it in these neighborhoods?

This two part series explores how race built Memphis. From a newly discovered 1930s redlining map to recent lawsuits, discriminatory housing policies have kept Black families from home ownership and Black neighborhoods from thriving.

Don’t let our city’s homes go into disrepair.

THDA works with local partners to provide home rehab grants to low-income, elderly (60 years or older) and/or disabled homeowners. Funding is limited and homeowners must meet certain qualifications.
