There’s a proper British pub in Midtown now - and it’s a 10-minute walk from The Gilmore. 🍺

Dog & Bone just opened at 2116 Madison Ave: dark wood, cold pints, and fish and chips the way it’s supposed to arrive at the table (crispy, hot, with vinegar). Chips and gravy on the menu. A shepherd’s pie that earns its plate. European beer list that makes you slow down and read.

This is the perfectly chill evening plan on a Wednesday and a fun plan for a night out with friends on a Saturday.

If you’ve called The Gilmore lately, you’ve probably heard Crystal on the other end. 🖤

Meet Crystal, our Business Manager. She joined the team last month and has already fallen for the residents, the historic building, and the little details that make this place feel like The Gilmore.

Fall in Midtown starts at the Shell. 🎶

Overton Park Shell just announced the Orion Financial Free Fall Concert Series running September 4 through October 11 - outdoor live music, food and drinks on site, and the sun setting over Overton Park just as the first band takes the stage.

The Shell is also turning 90 this year, with a full anniversary weekend September 10–13 worth putting on the calendar early.

From The Gilmore, it’s a walk through Overton Park to get there - bike if you want the breeze, walk if you want the head start.

Walk the Line (2005), the Johnny Cash biopic that earned Reese Witherspoon an Oscar, was filmed across Memphis - Sun Studio, the Orpheum, Mud Island, the Fairgrounds… and yes, right here at The Gilmore.

Nearly a century of good bones will do that.

The best ramen in Memphis is a short walk down Union. 🍜

Flame Ramen has the kind of menu that makes you commit to one bowl and immediately regret not ordering two. Broth that actually earned the hour it took to build. Noodles that hold the heat. And the fried rice deserves its own trip.

Eight stories above South McLean, the view goes 360. Overton Park on one side, Downtown Memphis in the distance, the streets of a busy Midtown laid out below.

And the Purple Martins who live in our bird houses handle the bug situation at dusk so you can stay out as long as you want.
