John Baker Homes Memphis For more than 30 years, I worked with local non-profits that strengthen and preserved Memphis neighborhoods. Some ways were expected, others were not.

My wife Jane has worked in creative fields with design, color and light. Long ago, we both started our college careers in architecture and have a common love of home design and renovation. In 2016, we decided to work together to selectively acquire, improve and then sell homes. In doing so, our goal is to preserve the home's character while renovating it to accommodate modern living needs. Working

on our first home on Wilcox brought many insights. Both Jane and I have a strong desire to help make things better, and we were both surprised by how rewarding the project was for us as a couple. While driving into her day job, Jane heard the Grit City news feature on our own WKNO-FM. It speaks to the several of reasons we enjoyed making Wilcox a home again - for the new owner, for the neighborhood and for the city.
