This week, the Freddie Mac 𝟑𝟎-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 f𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 dropped to 𝟔.𝟓𝟖% — the lowest it’s been since October 2024. That’s down slightly from last week, even as inflation numbers came in mixed.

📉 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬:

●Rates have been trending down for two weeks, fueled by expectations the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates next month.

● Buyers who’ve been sitting on the sidelines because of high financing costs might start making moves again if this trend continues.

● We saw at the end of last year that lower rates can spark a late-year buying surge — and we could see that happen again in 2025.

⚠️𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝: Rates are still higher than this time last year, and the Fed hasn’t officially made a move yet. But if they cut rates in September, mortgage rates could dip further.
