Sunday in Psalms
Welcome back! Every Sunday, we’re walking through the book of Psalms—one chapter at a time—to see what God is teaching us and how His Word still speaks to our lives today.
This week we’re in Psalm 6.
I don’t know who needs this reminder today, but it’s okay to tell God exactly how you feel.
Psalm 6 isn’t a chapter where David has all the answers. It’s a chapter where he’s tired. He’s hurting. He’s overwhelmed. He pours his heart out to God without trying to sound strong or have the perfect words.
And honestly… that’s encouraging.
Sometimes we think we have to have it all together before we pray. We think we have to hide our tears, our fears, or our questions. But David reminds us that God welcomes our honesty.
The part that encouraged me the most was how the chapter ends. David goes from crying out in desperation to declaring with confidence:
“The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer.” — Psalm 6:9
His situation hadn’t necessarily changed yet—but his faith had.
Maybe that’s the encouragement someone needs today. Don’t stop praying just because you haven’t seen the answer yet. God hears every prayer. He sees every tear. He’s working, even when we can’t see it.
As we begin this new week, let’s keep trusting Him—not because we know how everything will work out, but because we know the One who holds it all together.
