Who is going to the Strawberry Festival in Humboldt

Beginning May 3rd in Humboldt, the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival fires up for the 88th annual event that spans a full week of fun, food, parades, music, and everything strawberry here in TN! This long-running celebration, first held in 1934, stretches through May 9th and has grown into the largest and oldest continuously held festival in the state.

Over the course of seven days, close to 75,000 people fill roughly nine blocks of town for more than 20 events designed for all ages. Large parades roll through the streets with bright floats, marching bands, and candy tossed out to cheering kids, while pageants, concerts, and nightly fireworks keep things going after dark. You’ll also find a golf tournament, horse show, carnival midway, cooking competitions, and both 5K and 10K races winding through town.

The festival is officially recognized by the Tennessee Festival and Events Association and even crowns a Strawberry Festival Queen each year, a tradition that dates back decades. Food stands line the streets with everything from strawberry-topped funnel cakes and shortcake to lemonade, chocolate-dipped berries, and deep-fried strawberry treats. At its core, this week feels like a full-town gathering where locals and visitors come together to celebrate spring and a crop that has long been part of the area’s farming roots.
