Is Chester still a seller's market? The numbers say yes!

One question we're hearing from both buyers and sellers lately is:
"What's really happening in the Chester market?"

Looking at residential sales from January through July 2026, Chester remains a competitive market.
✅ 63 homes have sold ✅ Median sold price: $925,000 ✅ Average sold price: just over $1 million ✅ Homes sold for an average of 104.9% of asking price ✅ Median days on market: 16 days

For sellers, these numbers reflect continued demand and the importance of pricing and presentation.

For buyers, the market is still competitive, but there are opportunities. Chester currently has 27 active listings, giving buyers more options than we've seen at certain points over the past few years.

The key takeaway: well-priced homes continue to move quickly, and both buyers and sellers benefit from understanding the local market before making a move.

If you're considering buying or selling in Chester, Mendham, or the surrounding area, we’re always happy to share market insights and discuss what these trends may mean for your specific situation.
