A TRIBUTE TO OUR FOUNDER

Gail MacNeil (1943-2008) created Turn The Towns Teal®, a now national awareness campaign for ovarian cancer. She created this for YOU and for YOU to SHARE with your family and friends. Gail was only too aware of ovarian cancer, as she was already in the 9th year of her diagnosis with Stage IIIC Ovarian Cancer.

Two of the MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS of ovarian cancer are:
* Bloating
* Pelvic or abdominal pain/disorder

RISK FACTORS include:
* Genetic predisposition (BRCA1/BRCA2)
* Family history of breast, ovarian and colon cancer

Our wonderful volunteer from Connecticut, shares her story.

I’m Judie from Bristol, CT., and I’m an ovarian cancer survivor. I saw a Teal Ribbon in Ft. Lauderdale 10 years ago while visiting family there. I literally went up to the door to ask the homeowner where she got the ribbon. Yes, it was through Turn The Towns Teal®. We contacted Turn The Towns Teal and have been “Tealing” Bristol ever since.
Here’s proof that this campaign does save women’s lives. I received a note from a neighbor telling me that she received the ribbon and symptom card I put in her mailbox. She told me that she had the symptoms, got checked out and was indeed diagnosed with an early stage of ovarian cancer.

Turn The Towns Teal’s awareness campaign literally saves women’s lives.
