PRESS RELEASE - Fatal Injury Traffic Crash Investigation

Menifee, CA – On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at approximately 8:19 PM, Menifee Police Officers responded to the area of Briggs Road, just north of Garbani Road, regarding a report of an unresponsive pedestrian in the roadway with a severe head injury.

Upon arrival, officers located a male lying in the roadway with significant injuries. American Medical Response (AMR) and CAL Fire personnel responded and determined the individual had succumbed to his injuries. The Menifee Police Traffic Investigations Unit took over the investigation.

Witnesses reported seeing a white vehicle traveling south on Briggs Road toward Garbani Road while dragging what appeared to be a bicycle underneath its front end. The bicycle became dislodged, and the vehicle continued southbound without stopping or reporting the collision. Through the investigation, the victim was identified as a 15-year-old male resident of Menifee. The juvenile had been riding an off-highway electronic motocross-style (eMoto) motorcycle.

At the time of this media release, the suspect vehicle has not been located. The suspect vehicle is described as a white SUV-type vehicle, possibly a minivan, with likely damage to the front bumper area and passenger-side headlight.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has additional information regarding this incident is urged to contact Officer Sadler with the Menifee Police Department Traffic Unit at (951) 723-1638 or the Menifee Traffic Unit at (951) 723-1500.
