I never ask my clients how old they are because fair housing means I treat everyone equally. But it's probably safe to say that Frank might be one of the youngest homeowners I've ever helped close on a home!

We first connected in December, had several conversations thereafter, and toured a couple of homes. Once he received his pre-approval from Veron Gray at The Equitable Bank, it did not take long for us to secure a great property for him because Frank was serious, focused, and committed to making homeownership happen.

We would not be here, though, without a great listing agent and Seller who was willing to work through the list of FHA-required repairs. It truly takes a village and a whole lot of patience from everyone. But we got it DONE; great job to everyone involved.

Please share this event with any La Crosse people interested in homeownership! This is a very informative workshop.

In collaboration with La Casa de Esperanza, WHEDA, and AREAA Greater Milwaukee, HWCC is excited to present “Your Path to Home Ownership.” This program is designed to educate and assist individuals and families in qualifying for grants for home purchases in HUD-designated areas.

To be eligible for grant opportunities, participants must attend two classes (totaling six hours) and complete a one-on-one counseling session.

Whether you’re buying your first home or just need a refresher, these expert-led workshops will give you the tools to make smart, informed decisions.

Participants will:
-Learn the home-buying process
-Earn a home buyer certificate
-Learn about home buyer grants
-Hear from home-buying professionals like realtors, lenders, home inspectors, and more

To be eligible for grants, participants must attend the full workshop and then complete one-on-one counseling sessions to be HUD-certified.

This event is brought to you in partnership with Cia Siab Inc. and supported by our statewide partners. Participants will receive trusted education, resources, and guidance on the path to homeownership.

Spent the day in Madison with 500+ Wisconsin REALTORS® and real estate industry partners to talk about the challenges that so many of our clients, friends, and family face: low inventory, increased competition, and high property taxes. These challenges are putting homeownership further out of reach, in 2025 the average age of a first time homebuyer was 40 years old, and the increase in property taxes is a big stressor for many existing homeowners. Increased property taxes also mean rent increases for the renters.

It doesn’t matter what side of the aisle you are, housing isn’t political, it’s a necessity. Housing offers safety, stability, and security. Wisconsin can build something better. Let’s find sustainable solutions.
