🏡 Did you know that depending on which city you live in here in Lake County, you may NOT have the right to rent your own home on Airbnb or Vrbo?

Mentor banned short-term rentals outright in March 2025. Eastlake has similar restrictions. Wickliffe allows them — but only 16 permits exist for the entire city. And several other cities are still figuring it out.

This isn't just an investor issue. It's a property rights issue. When you own a home, you should have a say in how you use it.

There's a bill moving through Columbus (HB 109) that could change the rules statewide — but it hasn't passed yet. Until it does, local ordinances are the law.

I put together a full breakdown of where each Lake County city stands right now — whether you're a homeowner, thinking about buying, or just curious about your options.
