Proud moments across the Valley this week 🌟

Every ribbon cut, handshake, and conversation has one thing in common; bringing people together to make our communities stronger. Here were some of the amazing things that took place this past week:

• 65-Year Anniversary Ribbon Cutting for Monte Carlo Café in Donna ✂️

• Presentation to the Weslaco Mayor & Commission during a City Workshop 📺

• Release of our Queen City Chronicles interview featuring Formacio’s Pizza 🎤

• Joining the fun at Bobby Pulido’s “Run Bobby Run” event 🏃‍♂️

• Helping distribute backpacks at the Weslaco Mayor & Commission Backpack Drive 🎒

Whether it was celebrating a business milestone, promoting local businesses, encouraging our future leaders, or helping our youth, it was clear that community connection is what makes our region so special 🙌🧡

Honored to share that I have been recommended by SGA President Espinoza and confirmed by UTRGV President Dr. Guy Bailey to serve as UTRGV’s Representative to the UT System Student Advisory Council (UT SAC)! 🙌🎓

As UT SAC Representative, I will have the privilege of working alongside student leaders from across the UT System to advocate and represent on behalf of over 250,000 students across the entire state on issues that affecting the UT System. Only two students from each UT institution are chosen for this honor.

At UTRGV, I am committed to ensuring that our students’ voices are heard not just within our campus, but at the highest levels of the UT System. This role is not just about policy discussions, it’s about bringing real solutions back home to the Vaquero community.

I look forward to working hand-in-hand with our Student Government Association, university leadership, fellow UT SAC representatives across the state, and of course, the students of UTRGV to amplify our priorities and build meaningful change for the future of the RGV and beyond. ✌️🧡

Feeling grateful as I reflect on a full week of having the opportunity to support the community across the RGV. From recognizing future leaders to connecting with local businesses and supporting those making a difference across the Valley, I’m reminded why this work matters.

This week included:
• 🤝 Valley-wide entrepreneurial mixers with the RGV Hispanic Chamber
• 🧡 Board meetings focused on community progress across the Mid-Valley
• ✂️ Ribbon cuttings celebrating new developments in our community
• 📸 Local business interviews connecting local businesses to citizens in communities
• 🎓 Youth recognition for our future leaders at The RGV Texas Boys State Recognition Ceremony
• 💪 A celebration of trailblazing women at the RGV Women’s Chamber Gala

It’s a privilege to be part of it all…and next week we keep going!

In a time when political division runs deep, it’s more important than ever to show that conversations, not just confrontations, are still possible. I recently had the opportunity to appear on PBS NewsHour alongside my father to showcase our story. Our views may differ, but our respect and love remain the same. 🙏💙

In a time when division often drowns out dialogue, this moment on PBS NewsHour was a powerful reminder that deep respect can coexist with deep disagreement. Healthy dialogue begins when we stop trying to “win” and start trying to understand. Bridging divides takes courage, patience, and a willingness to truly listen — even when it’s uncomfortable.

This moment wasn’t about us, it was about showing what’s still possible when people come together with open minds and full hearts. May we all continue leaning into conversations that challenge us, and building a future grounded in unity, not uniformity. 🙌🇺🇸

Very productive week at UTRGV 🧡

I am honored to announce that I authored and passed a resolution within the Student Government Association that supports the creation of designated parking spaces for our UTRGV veterans!! 🙌🇺🇸

If implemented, this initiative can affect over 1,000 military-connected students at UTRGV. Huge thank you to all the elected officials who voiced their support 🙏📝

Additionally, I was interviewed for the implementation of the Legislation Transparency Act, an act I co-authored that saw the biggest step towards transparency between The Student Government and the Student Body 🎉🤝

Grateful to start yet another UTRGV semester as a Senator representing the student body 🧡🙏

Throughout my tenure, I have thankfully been able to work with so many amazing people to bring meaningful change within UTRGV 🤝🎓

I am looking forward to continuing to serve the over 34,000 students at UTRGV across the entire valley 🇺🇸🎉

This past weekend, alongside my father, we were excited to install our second Project C.E.R.B. yesterday on the North Side as part of our community outreach and missionary work in underserved areas!

C.E.R.B. provides GED info, job opportunities, college resources, books & Bibles, and dropout prevention! We were blessed to pass out books 📚 and resources to amazing neighborhood kids. 🙌

This Christmas season, I was honored to join CEO - UTRGV for their annual Toy Drive!! 🧸🎄

As part of our toy drive, we visited multiple communities across the valley, including The South Texas Children’s Hospital in Edinburg, McAllen, and Mercedes. A big shoutout to the McAllen and Mercedes PD for their help 🚔🎅

A huge thank you to all the sponsors who helped donate toys to spread the holiday joy, including - New York Life, The Howell Foundation, UTRGV-CEO, UTRGV SGA, UTRGV Vamos Scholars, and the wonderful UTRGV students who donated 🙌🤝

Honored to have been invited as a guest moderator for the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley VackarTalk, where we hosted the innovative and sustainable, Wearsos 🌎

Additionally, I attended the annual History Making Hispanic Women ceremony, where our wonderful advisor Dr.Robles was awarded and recognized 👏

Congratulations to Dr. Jacob Howell, for participating on the author panel for The Mayor Joe V. Sanchez Public Library of Weslaco’s Book Festival 📚🙌

He was joined by several other local authors to answer questions, give advice, and speak on their literary projects. He also represented The City of Mercedes in promoting education and literacy in our region🏆

Thank you to the City of Weslaco for holding the event in their great city and to all parties involved in this awesome event! 👏📝

Lastly, I encourage everyone to continue to support local authors, as they are the ones telling OUR stories and representing OUR voices. ✍️
