Congratulations to Jenn and Ron on their new home in Star, Idaho!

Jenn and Ron found me through YouTube while planning their move from Alpine, just outside of San Diego. Before reaching out, they had been working with another agent they found online, only to discover they weren't actually working with the person they thought they were. So when they contacted me, they had their Realtor back in California give me a call to make sure I would personally be helping them through the process.

I'm grateful they put their trust in me, and it was a privilege to guide them every step of the way—from exploring communities and builders to negotiating the purchase of their new home. In fact, the builder and community they ultimately chose weren't even on their radar when we started the search.

They found the perfect fit in River Park Estates, one of Star's premier new construction communities. While I had some great support from Rebecca, who helped with showings when I was out of town, I was able to work directly with Jenn and Ron throughout the process to help make their move to Idaho a reality.

Congratulations to Cathy on closing on her new home in Nampa!

One of the best parts of this journey was getting to tour the community clubhouse and meet many of the neighbors together. It didn't take long for Kathy to realize this wonderful 55+ community was exactly what she had been looking for. The welcoming atmosphere, great amenities, and friendly residents made her feel right at home.

One of the biggest surprises after moving to the Treasure Valley had nothing to do with housing, taxes, or even the weather.

It was the people.

Coming from Southern California, I expected Idaho to be friendly, but I wasn’t prepared for how genuine that friendliness would be. Not the quick "have a nice day" kind of interaction. I’m talking about neighbors who show up when you need help, people who wave as you drive by, and conversations that feel real instead of rushed.

Before moving here, I’d seen all the "Don't California My Idaho" bumper stickers and heard all the stories online. I assumed there might be some hostility toward newcomers.
That hasn’t been my experience at all.

Over the last four years, I’ve found that most people care a lot less about where you came from and a lot more about whether you’re a good neighbor and a good member of the community.

For many families, it’s this sense of connection and belonging that ends up being the biggest surprise - and one of the biggest reasons they never want to leave.

Congratulations to our clients on closing on their new home in Avimor!

This one was definitely a journey. In a competitive market, we wrote offers on four different homes and got beat out on the first three before finding the perfect fit. Sometimes the right house takes a little patience, and in this case, it was absolutely worth the wait.

We didn’t move to Idaho because it showed up on a “Best Places to Live” list.

We moved because it represented something we weren’t finding anymore - more space, more freedom, more home for our money, and a lifestyle that felt more aligned with how we wanted to raise our family.

Four years later, a lot of those expectations turned out to be true. The community is real. The outdoor lifestyle is real. The opportunities are real.
But there were also surprises.

Coming from San Diego, I thought I understood what winter would be like. I didn’t. Idaho winter is a completely different experience. The first time temperatures dropped into the single digits, it was a shock. Snow, ice, shorter days - there’s definitely an adjustment period.

The good news is that most people adapt faster than they expect. And for many families, the tradeoff is worth it for everything else the Treasure Valley offers the other nine months of the year.

The key to a successful move isn’t expecting perfection. It’s understanding the tradeoffs and making sure they align with the life you want to build.

Sometimes the best homes never even make it to the market.

A huge congratulations to Sharon on getting her offer accepted on a beautiful home in Star, Idaho - complete with a 54-foot RV garage!

Just a couple of weeks ago, we got beat out on another home in the same neighborhood. When this one popped up in “Coming Soon” status, there were no interior photos available yet - just a floor plan and a front exterior picture. But because it was so similar to the previous home, Sharon knew this was the one she wanted.

After missing out the first time, she made the decision to come in with a strong offer before the home ever went live. The seller accepted, and we were able to secure the home without competing against a flood of buyers once it hit the market.

Now we’re just two weeks away from closing, and Sharon will be making her move from Oregon to Star, Idaho.

This is a great reminder that sometimes timing, strategy, and decisiveness can make all the difference in a competitive market.

One of the lifestyle changes I never expected after moving to the Treasure Valley was how connected I’d become to where my food comes from.

I buy beef directly from a local farmer. I’ve seen the cattle raised, know exactly where the meat comes from, and can choose the cuts I want. Fresh eggs are often available from neighbors and local farm stands. Produce is sold at roadside stands where you simply leave payment and take what you need.

That kind of farm-to-table lifestyle isn’t a niche thing here - it’s just part of everyday life in many parts of the valley.

For people coming from larger metro areas, it can be surprising how easy it is to connect with local agriculture and local producers. It’s one of those small quality-of-life improvements that doesn’t show up on a housing search but ends up becoming one of your favorite parts of living here.

The Treasure Valley still has strong agricultural roots, and you feel that connection throughout the community.

Congratulations to Kevin and LinLin on closing on their new home in Eagle, Idaho!

Kevin is relocating from Colorado to help support the expansion of the Micron project, and we were honored to help them find the right home for this next chapter. They had a few very specific needs, including making sure both of their electric Jeeps would comfortably fit in the garage, finding a low-maintenance property, and staying close to downtown Eagle.

After exploring their options, we found a home that checked all the boxes in a fantastic location with easy access to everything Eagle has to offer.
